Sous Chef (FULL TIME/45HRS)

Currently, we operate a busy weekend brunch service and evening dinners. With the addition of a sous chef, we look to extend opening hours to include weekday brunches as well. Further on we see Pickle & Rye expanding which would allow our new hires to be a part of the business from an early stage, presenting career path opportunities.


What’s the job?

The sous chef will report directly to the head chef. They will begin by learning each station thoroughly – salad/sandwich, grill, breakfast and fryers. This will include recipes, prep, service and opening/clean-down. After mastering each station, the sous chef be responsible for running the day or evening shift as needed with their own team to manage and train. We promote a healthy work/life balance at Pickle & Rye, and therefore tailor our management rotas to no more than 45 hours a week.


Required Skills

Successful candidates will have had previous management experience as jr sous, sous or head chef. In addition to the standard skills required in any kitchen, specifically our ideal sous chef will have knowledge of American cuisine and have a passion for food that is homemade and from the heart. Importantly, the successful candidate will work to encourage the team to uphold high standards, enjoy their work, and inspire pride in the work through a passionate energy for providing wonderful food from the heart.

 

Position Includes

  • £28,000 – £30,000 per annum salary

Front of House Server – (Full Time/40HRS) From fluffy blueberry pancakes to a spicy rib rub we have a passion for brining American flavours to the UK. We strive for a comfortable, fun dining experience for all our customers. We are looking for an enigmatic front of house server to be a part of our busy FOH team. On top of that, we are a community! At the Pickle our customers love to get to know you. The ideal candidate would have experience taking orders, exceptional food product knowledge, and an overall knowledge of food service – must have coffee/barista skills.

You will be charming, charismatic by providing a highly efficient, warm and effective service. You will be an inspirational and team player with the ability to work with the whole team.

Bicycle Delivery Driver & Front of House Support (Flexible Hours) – We are looking for a motorbike or bicycle delivery driver. We only serve our local area SW14 but are in need of reliable, friendly and responsible drivers for our customers! When not delivering you would be helping front of house with dishes, cleaning and dine-in tables. We are flexible and happy to give 1-5 shifts a week as needed. Shift times are between 5-10pm Wednesday-Sunday. Perfect for Students 17 and over.
